Kunes RV provides more information about each RV than any other RV website. Our goal is to give our shoppers the most complete view of features, specifications, floor plans, and appearance.

Some details shown may only apply to specific models or trims of the RV you’re viewing, and certain features may vary by unit. If you need to confirm something specific, please give us a call, review the photos, or submit an inquiry. And if the feature you want isn’t included on this unit, our team can often upfit or modify the RV to make it happen.

Description

The Retro Family Fortress: 1998 Jayco Eagle 285BHS

Meet the 1998 Jayco Eagle 285BHS—the 29-foot fifth wheel that proves good bones and classic camper layouts never go out of style.

Whether you're looking for a budget-friendly way to get the whole family out to the lake or searching for a solid, proven rig for a seasonal basecamp, this late-90s legend is ready to roll. It’s got that classic Jayco build quality—a heavy-duty steel frame and a seamless roof—proving it was built to withstand the test of time (and a whole lot of energetic kids).

Why you'll love it:

A Magic Trick of Space: With a single slideout and a massive sleeping capacity of 8, this rig is ready for a crowd. Between the main bed, the sofa sleeper, and the classic dinette booth, you can easily stash the kids, the cousins, or the friends who drew the short straw.

Gourmet on the Go: The kitchen features everything you need to keep a hungry crew happy, including a refrigerator, a microwave, a pantry for all the trail snacks, and a cooktop with a handy bi-fold cover to maximize your prep space.

All-Season Comfort: Don't let a chilly forecast ruin your plans. Thanks to the in-floor ducted heat, you'll stay perfectly comfortable even when the temperature drops.

Push-Button Magic: Arrive at your site and let the power front jack do the heavy lifting. Less time cranking away at the hitch means more time aggressively claiming the best spot by the campfire.

Proven Durability: They just don't build them like they used to. This rig's solid steel frame has been out there conquering campgrounds for over two decades, and it's absolutely ready for its next chapter.

The Quick Specs:

Hitch her up, pack the overhead cabinets and underbed storage with all your gear, and hit the open road. The wild is calling, and it wants you to answer in classic Jayco style!
