Make your picnic table stand out on the 4th of July with these adorable placemats!

• 4 15″ x 11″ rectangles of red and white striped fabric
• 4 6″ x 5″ denim rectangles — us an old pair of jeans
• Fabric glue
• Hot Glue
• 4 15″ lengths of white yarn
• Popsicle stick

Using the hot glue gun, trace a five-pointed star on a denim square and lay the yarn on top of it. Tap it gently into the glue using a popsicle stick to avoid burning your fingers. Repeat on all four denim squares.1. $1 Using the fabric glue, attach the denim square to the top left corner of the red striped fabric.1. $1 Gentle fray the edges by pulling 3-4 rows of threads out on either end.1. $1

• 1″ think upholstery foam
• 2 bandanas per seat cushion
• Scissors
• Sewing machine

Measure the seats you want to use.1. $1 Cut foam to size1. $1 If necessary, cut two bandanas to the size of the cushions, adding another inch on every side to ensure there is room to sew them closed.1. $1 Pin and sew the two bandanas together, inside out, leaving a large opening so that you can slip the foam inside.1. $1 Turn right-side out and add the foam to the covers.1. $1 Sew the opening closed1. $1 Using some of the scrap fabric from the bandanas, add ties to the back of the cushion to tie the cushions to the seats and keep them in place.1. $1

• Double-sided, heavy-duty, fusible webbing
• Scissors
• Hot Glue
• Metal soda caps

Cut your fabrics into even squares, coupling complimenting colors of red, white, and blue.1. $1 Use the fusible webbing to attach two of the fabrics together.1. $1 Trim the edges and cut in from each corner to the center, alternating points using hot glue to pin the corners in place.1. $1 Add a cute bottle cap to the center with hot glue.1. $1

Use heavy-duty, double-sided fusible webbing to pair two fabric squares, then cut in from corners and hot glue alternating points to the center. Top with a metal soda cap.
