RV Tips: 3 Ways to Get Your RV Ready for Spring
February 16, 2022
By Kunes RV
Spring break is just around the corner, which means it’s almost time to get your RV out of storage and make your way to the campground for your first camping trip of 2022. These easy RV tips for getting your RV ready for the spring will help take the stress out of getting ready for your vacation. Check out these three ways to prepare for the campground.
Roof Repairs
One of the most important things to maintaining your RV is regularly checking the condition of your roof and quickly repairing any flaws. You can spot problem places easily by looking for pooling water or areas where the sealant is peeling. Repairs on the sealant around the roof’s edges, slides, and AC units are easy to do yourself. However, if you find any places that look troublesome, contact our service department for repairs.
Check Your Battery
Most RV owners will charge their RV’s battery over the winter so that it’s ready to go as soon the weather warms up. If you didn’t charge your battery, there’s no need to worry; it’s easy to connect and get it charged before you head to the campground. Our RV service technicians will be happy to help get your RV’s battery ready for the spring if you have any questions.
Flush Your Water System
You can wait until you’re at the campground for this step, but we recommend hooking up your water system before leaving home to flush the antifreeze. All you have to do is connect the water system and open all the faucets until the water runs clear. This ensures there’s no antifreeze left in the pipes, so you’re ready to wash dishes, make dinners, shower, and more as soon as you get to the campground.
